In Rwanda, Uganda and Congo, a regional conservation program enforcing the need to conserve the virgin forest watershed and the need to habituate some groups of gorillas for tourist visits has helped ease limiting encroachment. Due to the constantly magnifying and overwhelmingly expanding population in countries where the mountain gorilla are found in East Africa, there is extensive search for land for settlement, agriculture and other activities but the land is nowhere thus looking at the places where these mountain gorilla individuals are conserved at as the last resort thus causing serious gorilla threats.
